Sunkist orange Shrimp are a color morph of yellow and red neocaridina davidi shrimp (Cherry Shrimp) that are characterized by a vibrant orange color. These shrimp are beginner-friendly and will feast on algae, biofilm, and other tank waste. Given the correct parameters, they are eager to breed and you will soon have your own colony! It is recommended to get at least 10-20 shrimp for your first colony, to ensure there is a good mix of male and female.

Sunkist orange Shrimp are a color morph of yellow and red neocaridina davidi shrimp (Cherry Shrimp) that are characterized by a vibrant orange color. These shrimp are beginner-friendly and will feast on algae, biofilm, and other tank waste. Given the correct parameters, they are eager to breed and you will soon have your own colony!

It is recommended to get at least 10-20 shrimp for your first colony, to ensure there is a good mix of male and female.

Temperature: 70-78°F (21-26°C) Ideal range is 72-76°F (22-24°C)

pH: 6.5-8.0 – Optimal range is 7.0-7.5

GH (General Hardness): 6-8 dGH

KH (Carbonate Hardness): 2-5 dKH

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids): 150-250 ppm

Ammonia: 0 ppm

Nitrite: 0 ppm

Nitrate: <10 ppm

Copper: 0 ppm – Like most dwarf shrimp, sunkist orange shrimp are very sensitive to copper

Oxygen: Well-oxygenated water

Water changes: 10-20% weekly or as needed. Water changes that are too big will stress the shrimp and can cause casualties. Ideally, you should use dechlorinated or RO (Reverse Osmosis) water.
